Tessa J

About Tessa J.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my site.  I'm Tessa.  I started riding when I was 7 at a h/j barn.  There I gained my foundation and general horse knowledge that started everything.  At 13, I bought my first horse, Quervo.  Quervo was (and still is!) the love of my life... we tried everything together; from reining to cross country, from cow work to dressage.  Quervo is now retired.  At 16 I purchased a BLM mustang, Diego.  He was a yearling at the time, and has now grown into a beautiful gentleman, one of the smartest horses I've ever worked with.  He was sold to a great show home (and now goes by the name of Kiwi!).  After Diego, I purchased a lovely thoroughbred filly, Baylee, who I sarted under saddle, but I unfortunately had to sell her due to time and money constraints, she went to a very nice dressage home.

With Quervo, I started getting into dressage, but he was not the happiest camper about it (he liked cows and trails!).  In 2006 I purchased Romeo, with hopes to go far, unfortunately less than a year later he was diagnosed with lower ringbone in both front legs.  He is now retired as well.

Now horseless, I became a working student at a dressage barn in Carmel, CA.  It was an amazing experience!  I learned a lot about horses, dressage, people and myself!

After coming home from Carmel, I got Davi.  The second love of my life (Quervo ties, lol).  Davi is an amazing teacher, one of the best I've ever had.  I'm basically learning how to ride!
